BIO
With a deep love and appreciation for the music of System of a Down, Peephole was formed in Chicago in 2017 after being asked to perform their music live at a Halloween show. Born out of lead singer Jamie’s original band, Electric Villain, Peephole played their first gig at the famous Beat Kitchen. They and the fans loved their set so much that they decided to continue onward as a tribute band, bringing the very best of SOAD to people all around the midwest. At that time, they never could have predicted that they’d reach fans from all over the world, bringing people a show they need. Fans have driven hours and hours to see Peephole live, and despite being around for a number of years, the band still feels like they’re just getting started.
Peephole’s fanbase has steadily grown over the years thanks to unique variations of SOAD shows. For example, Peephole once performed alongside their friends in White Pony (Deftones tribute) in Chicago, each band performing an album in full. Peephole performed SOAD’s acclaimed self-titled first album, while White Pony played White Pony.
In 2024, Peephole completed the “Toxic Weekend Tour”, performing the album Toxicity in its entirety three nights in a row between Chicago, Rockford, and Rock Island, IL. The band continues to find new ways to reach new fans by celebrating their shared love for System of a Down.
On August 30th, 2025, Peephole performed live on stage with Daron Malakian of System of a Down at the Cubby Bear in Chicago, IL the night before System of a Down’s first of two sold out shows at Soldier Field. This created a large amount of press and the story was shared by nearly every major Rock and Roll news outlet including Rock Feed, Metal Injection, Blabbermouth, Spin Magazine, Revolver Magazine, Consequence of Sound, and many more.
Peephole isn’t just a tribute band made up of four fans. Each band member has been deeply involved with the Chicago music scene for many years. Lead singer Jamie Dull has been the drummer for various artists such as Katie Kadan (from NBC’s The Voice) and Smells Like Nirvana (tribute) and has recorded music with Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake), Dagan Thogerson (Murder By Death), and Chris Connelly (Ministry), and more, while bassist Mike Morgan plays in the original group The Box Band alongside legendary harmonica virtuoso Howard Levy as well as Are You Ready For It: A Taylor Swift Experience. Drummer Dave Vazzano has taught hundreds of drummers throughout the Chicagoland region for over a decade, and plays with a number of great bands such as The Mizzerables and The Student Body, while guitarist Curran Allenstein spent many years as the lead guitarist of Catfish & the Dogstars. At one point in time, three of the four members of Peephole were simultaneously running three different music schools in the Chicagoland area while building Peephole to what it is today.
As of 2025 and going into 2026, Peephole is ready to take on a broader market, and is working towards bringing their show to fans in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, and Minnesota.
